Simona KREBS, International Institute for Laughter Maribor SUMMARY Each year there are more and more people who die because of the chronic diseases, which include high blood pressure. Being exposed to entertainment is one of the effective methods of promoting laughter and consequently the laughter positively affects the blood pressure. Therefore, the purpose of research is to determine how laughter yoga affects the blood pressure, heart rate, peripheral oxygenation, and well-being. It is a chronic disease, which needs long clinical observation and constant adherence to medication. Negative emotions such as anxiety, fear, and sorrow are known to be factors that elevate the blood glucose level. Simona KREBS, Mednarodni inštitut za smeh Maribor POVZETEK Zaradi kroničnih obolenj, med katere sodi tudi zvišan krvni tlak, iz leta v leto umre več ljudi. Gledanje zabavnih vsebin je ena od učinkovitih metod spodbujanja smeha, ki posledično vpliva na vrednosti krvnega tlaka. Zato je bil namen raziskave ugotoviti, kako vodena vadba joge smeha vpliva na krvni tlak, srčni utrip, periferno oksigenacijo in počutje. Miro ČOKOLIČ, dr. med., specialist internist, Klinika za interno medicino, Oddelek za endokrinologijo, UKC Maribor, POVZETEK Sladkorna bolezen je pomemben vzrok obolevnosti in umrljivosti starejše populacije. Je najbolj razširjena presnovna bolezen in eden glavnih zdravstvenih ter socialno-ekonomskih problemov v svetu. Kot kronična bolezen zahteva dolgoročno opazovanje in spremljanje bolnika ter dobro adherenco zdravljenja. Negativna čustva, na primer strah, žalost, bojazen, so znani vzroki za dvig glukoze v krvi. Za pozitivna čustva, na primer smeh, pa je značilno, da ublažijo nevroendokrine dejavnike, vpletene v negativna čustva, in modulirajo imunost. LAUGHTER YOGA – AN EFFECTIVE PRACTICE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE
